About Reform Pilates
Reform Pilates brings a unique range of Pilates fitness classes to Cork city through a dedicated practice studio on Monahan Road near Ballintemple & Blackrock. Led by Sally Walsh, who has nearly 20 years of experience and Pilates knowledge to her name, we have a class to suit all ages and fitness levels and look forward to welcoming all new faces to our Studio!
What is Reformer Pilates?
Mat Pilates uses a mat and a person’s own body weight to improve core strength and improve posture. Reformer Pilates builds on that foundation by using a piece of equipment called a reformer to add intensity and provide a smarter and more effective workout. Our Barre Burn class, meanwhile, provides a unique toning and cardio mix for anyone in Cork looking to try something a little different.
Are Reformer Pilates suitable for me?
Described as the most effective form of Pilates by many, the beauty of Reformer is that it provides a total body workout, but through a low-risk intensity session.
Reformer Pilates is suitable for anyone in Cork that is keen to start moving again. Have you an injury that you need to be mindful of? Are you trying to regain fitness after giving birth? Do you need to improve your core strength for another sport? Reformer Pilates is a suitable fitness class for everyone - from a person that cannot do a full gym session or those looking to recover from involvement in high-endurance activities.
Our classes are smaller in number to ensure individual support for every client, with 1-2-1 sessions available at our Cork city studio to those with more significant requirements.
I'm delighted to welcome you to Reform Pilates. I am a long time devotee of all things pilates. I did my 1st mat class 15 years ago and have been hooked ever since! It's the feeling of strength and control over my body that I fell in love with, and when I found Reformer, that only intensified.
Now I have achieved a huge ambition by opening this studio, and bringing these amazing disciplines: Mat, Barre & Reformer Pilates, to others. I really believe that done correctly they not only transform bodies, but lives. I hope to see you all soon in Reform Pilates.
The reformer is a piece of equipment which takes core Pilates exercises to another level using weighted springs. it is a challenging total body workout.
Pilates at its purest, using the strength of the client to perfect the core exercises. With the occasional use of small equipment to keep it interesting!
Can you imagine ballet, pilates, yoga and intensive toning all done to dance music? that's basically a Barre class!! Amazing toning, cardio and a fun challenge too. try it once and you'll be back.
